As well as a couple of sojourns along the West Highland Way, representatives of our Lodge have on a couple of occasions trekked the 50 odd miles of the Speyside Way.

This is a beautiful walk through the spectacular Grampian countryside following the banks of the river Spey from the point that it meets the cold North Sea at Tugnet, through Fochabers, Criagellachie, Aberlour and onto Tomintoul in the heart of the Cairngorm mountains.

Apart from the beautiful scenery, the route offers ample accommodation and refreshment opportunities along the way, and if well planned the weary walkers can sample the superb hospitality and social banter without equal in a plethora of fine hotels and pubs during to two overnight stops which are to be recommended when covering a distance of this sort.

A humorous account of one of our Speyside adventures was recorded by one of the ladies in our party, it beautifully illustrates the pain and passion of our intrepid band of heroes as the boldly set of on the longest walk of their lives.
