The season is up and running again, the first meeting held on Thursday 5th October was a well attended and excellently worked 1st Degree.

Bro. Conner gave an update on Bro. Doug Sheal who is currently awaiting the go ahead for major surgery, we all wish him well and look forward very much to see him return to full health and be back amongst us.

It was agreed at the meeting that the Lodge needed to commit to some major fund raising this year to keep the lodge coffers to the requisite levels. Bro. Conner explained in simple terms the down side of having the luxury of our own lodge rooms, as much as we all appreciate the new decor and comfortable surroundings, we may be less aware of the operational costs involved. Jim went on to advise that the annual expenses required to operate the building when divided by the number of times the lodge is used during the year means that we average a cost of £100 per night! This led us to consider the contributions we feel able to give to the collection on meeting nights and a discussion then followed regarding the idea of holding our own Burns Supper in 2007 as this is always an enjoyable and profitable activity.

The long awaited mark pennies and tokens arrived to the delight of all and over 20 sets of tokens were purchased on the night which in itself will help boost lodge funds. If you have not yet purchased any of the new tokens and would like place an order, please get in touch with Lodge Sec. J Conner or W.S.W. Bro. G Mackay.

The next meeting will be a 2nd degree on Thursday 19th October.
