Inverie 2004

On the 5th June 2004, 9 of the Lodge members went to the pub!  What’s so unusual about I hear you say? Well this particular pub is the Old Forge and according to the Guinness Book of Records it is the most remote pub in Britain!

So here’s the script, the 9 walkers and 2 drivers left Cruden Bay at 5:30 am on the Saturday morning and drove for the best part of six hours to Kinloch Hourn, here the walkers disembarked and set of on their 15 mile trek to the pub!

Arriving at the bunk house in Inverie at around 7.30pm the guys just had enough time to wash and change before heading for the Old Forge for a well deserved pint and a meal. As if that wasn’t enough for one day the Lodge musicians Gordon Mackay and John Simpson were booked to play to the amazingly receptive audience on bothe the Saturday and Sunday nights..
